    GENDO 48: Open Market

    Terms & Conditions

    These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in GENDO 48: Open Market (“Competition”), organised by Gendo AI Ltd (“Gendo”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By registering or participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms.

    1.Eligibility

    1.1 The Competition is open globally to individuals aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.

    1.2 Entries may be submitted by:

    • Individuals (solo participants), or
    • Teams of up to 5 participants

    1.3 Where a team submits:

    • All members must be listed at the point of submission
    • All members must have a registered Gendo account

    1.4 Solo participants are fully eligible for all prizes and will be treated as a “team of one” for all Competition purposes.

    1.5 Employees of Gendo and its affiliates may participate but are not eligible for prizes.

    2.Competition Format

    2.1 The Competition runs from Thursday, 23 April 2026 (11:59 GMT) to Sunday, 26 April 2026 (23:59 GMT).

    2.2 Submissions must be created and presented within the Gendo platform using a live collaborative canvas.

    2.3 Entry is free.

    2.4 Participants will receive a Starter Pack including 3D models, drawings, and reference materials. These are provided solely for use within the Competition.

    2.5 Indicative timeline:

    • Thursday, 23 April · 11:59 GMT — Brief drops. All registered teams receive the full brief and Starter Pack by email. The 3D model, drawings, image packs, and structural notes are live.
    • Friday–Sunday, 24–26 April — Gendo unlocked and unlimited for 48 hours.
    • Thursday–Sunday, 23–26 April — Open competition period. Research the site, develop your concept, and build your canvas. The board is live and collaborative from day one.
    • Sunday, 26 April · 23:59 GMT — Submission deadline. Board URLs submitted via the competition form on the Gendo platform. No extensions.
    • Monday–Friday, 27 April – 1 May — Internal shortlist review by the Gendo team.
    • Friday, 1 May — Shortlist sent to the judging panel.
    • Wednesday, 6 May — Winners announced across Gendo's platform, social channels, and press contacts.

    3.Submission Requirements

    3.1 Each team may submit one (1) entry only.

    3.2 Submissions must:

    • Be a valid Gendo board URL
    • Be submitted via the official competition form before the deadline

    3.3 The board must include:

    • A clearly defined final boards section
    • A working area demonstrating process
    • Clear representation of the existing iron structure

    3.4 Submissions:

    • Must remain accessible after submission
    • Will be locked at the deadline (23:59 GMT, Sunday 26 April 2026)
    • Any work added after the deadline will not be assessed

    3.5 Failure to meet these requirements may result in disqualification.

    4.Design Rules & Disqualification

    4.1 All entries must comply with the Design Adherence rules outlined in the brief.

    4.2 The following may result in disqualification:

    • Submitting work not developed within the Gendo canvas
    • Multiple submissions per team
    • Plagiarism or use of unlicensed third-party materials
    • Offensive, unlawful, or inappropriate content

    4.3 Gendo reserves the right to disqualify entries at its discretion where rules are breached.

    5.Judging & Results

    5.1 Submissions will be evaluated by a judging panel appointed by Gendo.

    5.2 Judging criteria:

    • The Idea (35%)
    • Design Adherence (25%)
    • Temporal Narrative (25%)
    • Process (15%)

    5.3 All decisions are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

    6.Prizes

    6.1 Prizes include:

    • First Prize: £5,000
    • People’s Choice: £500
    • Additional non-monetary prizes as outlined in the brief

    6.2 Prizes are:

    • Awarded per team
    • Non-transferable
    • Not exchangeable

    6.3 Gendo reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value if necessary.

    7.People’s Choice Award

    7.1 The People’s Choice winner is determined based on social engagement linked to submissions using:

    • #Gendo48
    • A valid board link

    7.2 Gendo reserves the right to:

    • Review engagement authenticity
    • Disqualify entries using artificial or manipulated engagement

    8.Intellectual Property

    8.1 Entrants retain ownership of their work.

    8.2 By entering, participants grant Gendo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

    • Publish, display, and distribute submissions
    • Use entries for marketing, press, and promotional purposes
    • Archive entries publicly

    8.3 Gendo will credit teams where reasonably possible.

    9.Use of Platform

    9.1 Participants must use the Gendo platform in accordance with its terms of service.

    9.2 Misuse of the platform, including attempts to exploit systems or upload harmful content, may result in removal from the Competition.

    10.Starter Pack & Third-Party Materials

    10.1 All Competition materials provided by Gendo are:

    • For Competition use only
    • Not for resale, redistribution, or commercial use

    10.2 Participants are responsible for ensuring that any additional materials used:

    • Are original or properly licensed
    • Do not infringe third-party rights

    11.Prize Payment & Team Lead Responsibility

    11.1 Each entry must nominate one (1) team lead at submission.

    • For solo participants, the entrant is automatically the team lead.

    11.2 The team lead will act as the sole point of contact for all Competition and prize-related communication.

    11.3 If a team wins:

    • Gendo will contact the team lead using provided details
    • The team lead must respond within 7 days to confirm acceptance and provide payment details

    11.4 Prize money will:

    • Be paid in full to the team lead only
    • Be issued via bank transfer within 30 days of confirmation and receipt of valid payment details

    11.5 Gendo is not responsible for distributing prize money between team members.

    11.6 The team lead is solely responsible for:

    • Allocating funds among team members
    • Handling any disputes related to distribution

    11.7 By entering, all team members agree to:

    • The nominated team lead receiving prize funds on behalf of the team
    • The team lead’s authority over distribution

    12.Tax Responsibility

    12.1 All prizes are awarded gross, without tax deduction.

    12.2 Winners are solely responsible for:

    • Any applicable taxes, duties, or levies
    • Reporting prize income in their jurisdiction

    12.3 Gendo accepts no liability for any tax obligations or related consequences.

    13.Liability

    13.1 Gendo is not responsible for:

    • Technical failures or platform downtime
    • Lost, incomplete, or late submissions
    • Any indirect or consequential losses

    13.2 Participation is at the entrant’s own risk.

    14.Data & Privacy

    14.1 Participant data will be used to:

    • Administer the Competition
    • Communicate with entrants

    14.2 Data will be handled in accordance with Gendo’s Privacy Policy.

    15.Modification & Cancellation

    15.1 Gendo reserves the right to:

    • Modify these Terms
    • Adjust timelines
    • Cancel or suspend the Competition

    where necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

    16.Governing Law

    16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

    16.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.

    17.Acceptance

    By registering for or participating in the Competition, entrants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
